Dinner & Overnight at Jetwing Blue
First stop will be Elephant orphanage at Pinnawela, where you can watch these magnificent beasts first hand, up close and personal. The orphanage is a unique entity, seen nowhere else in the world.
En route, feast your taste buds on a traditional Sri Lankan lunch and you will soon arrive at Sigiriya. Named the 8th wonder of the world, this famous rock fortress was the ancient citadel of King Kassapa. Climb to the top and be rewarded with the ruins of his royal palace, and a view that will take your breath away
Dinner & Overnight stay at The Other Corner
This park is famed world over for its elephant gatherings, especially between August and September; the dry season. Your next stop is a trip back in time, as you proceed with a tour of the ancient capital of Polonnaruwa before winding the day up with a chance to relive a part of that era – an elephant ride through the forest. Get back to the 21st century with a BBQ dinner back at your hotel.

From this you will begin to head South to hill capital of Kandy – stopping twice en route in Matatle. These stops give you a chance to see real Sri Lankan specialties with a visit to a spice garden and a batik factory.
Arrive in Kandy and check in to hotel. Your next visit is to one of the islands greatest attractions. Pilgrims come from all over to visit ‘The Temple of the Tooth’ or ‘Dalada Maligawa’ in the evening, which holds the tooth of the Lord Buddha. Round this culturally stimulating day off with a cultural show.

Your heart will pound and adrenaline will take over, with white water rafting on the famous Kitulgala river – which was also the location of the 1957 Academy Award winning film, “The Bridge on the River Kwai”.
After lunch take a chance to catch your breath before an excursion to the pre-historic ‘beli-lena’ caves. Return to the Eco Lodge for dinner and fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the river.

Enjoy your breakfast and then board the train for a stunning train ride to Nawalapitiya where outside your carriage window you can see lush tea plantations, rushing waterfalls and cliff drops of thousands of feet. You will disembark the train in Nanu Oya and continue the journey to Nuwara Eliya via Tour bus. Your dinner and overnight stay will be spent in echoes of the colonial time. Breakfast the next morning will be followed by an exhilarating trek to the Horton Plains National Park where you will be able to view the 4000 feet vertical drop that is popularly known as ‘World’s End’. You can’t visit the tea capital of the nation without an evening visit to a tea factory to see the process first hand, and this will round off your evening.

or instead opt for a lie-in and late breakfast. Mid-Morning you begin the drive to the coastal town of Bentota, enjoying the stunning southern coastline as you drive. Stop briefly at Weligama to enjoy the unique sight of Sri Lanka’s famous ‘stilt’ fishermen and then continue on to the island’s Southern Capital – Galle. Enjoy lunch in the quaint Dutch Fort of Galle, now a UNESCO World Heritage site as you feel yourself being transported back to colonial times. When you reach Bentota, take a moment to breathe in the sea air and admire the golden sandy beaches where the comforts of this all-inclusive hotel awaits you.
The next few days are yours to spend as you wish. You can choose to lie on the beach and just unwind, and for the more energetic there are water sports, boat rides and fishing to keep you going!

The day is yours to shop and take in the buzz and rush if this vibrant city – there is something for everyone! Lunch will be at the famous colonial landmark of Colombo – the Galle Face Hotel. Here you can return to the days of the kings and indulge in one last night of before leaving for your departure flight to Katunayake.
